KMBC's Constitution Day

Nick Armstrong“Happy Constitution Day!” Around September 17, this phrase causes excitement and anticipation among many at KMBC. Every year around the time of Constitution Day, a Thursday night dinner is dedicated to celebrating this special holiday.

Because Convocation was held during the week of Constitution Day, KMBC celebrated the holiday a week later, but the change of date did not prevent the patriotic spirit that many bring to the annual KMBC event.

This year, appearances were made by several people who were influential in the founding of our fair country (while some were simply entertaining). John Adams, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas McKean, King George III of England, Betsy Ross, Harriet Tubman, Deborah Sampson, Pocahontas, Sacajawea, and Benedict Arnold were just some of this year's special guests.

Celebrating Constitution Day at KMBC is a reminder of the privilege of living in a free country. It also encourages support and promotion of our founding fathers' first intentions: to live in a “nation, under God.”
