We are excited to sponsor along with the Breathitt County Ministerial Association the Breathitt County Bible Bowl during the Honey Festival. We purpose to promote fellowship among the churches and congregations in Breathitt County while promoting biblical literacy, Christian Education, outreach, and excitement for the things of God! We invite you to participate in this great event.

Please review these rules and register your team below. Only one registration form per team is required.

Prizes:

• The winning team will receive a $500 Prize from the Breathitt County Ministerial Association for church use and a traveling trophy to display at their church for the year.
  • This trophy will be passed to the winning team’s congregation each year.
• Each participant will receive a certificate of participation.

Bible Bowl Rules:

• Each church can register a team of FIVE people from 1st grade to 99 years old. It is suggested that there be an age spread on each team. Church pastors are not allowed to participate as a member of the team.
• Quizzing will be with jump seats. The first person to jump will have the opportunity to answer the question and score points for their team.
  • Each question will be read twice and the first participant off their seat wins the opportunity to answer the question.
  • After the quizzer is recognized, he/she must give the correct answer within 30 seconds.
  • After a person has answered four questions correctly they are ineligible to answer any more for the round.
  • If a team answers a question wrong then the opposing team will have the opportunity to answer and win the points.
  • Each correct answer is worth 20 points.
  • In the event of a tie after 20 questions, single toss-up questions will be asked until no tie remains after a question. Tiebreaker questions may come from any question category.
• There will be twenty questions per round. All wording will be taken from the KJV version of the Bible.
  • Question Categories include:
    • New Testament (5)
    • Old Testament (5)
    • Names (2)
    • History & Geography (2)
    • Wisdom Literature (2)
    • Memory Verse (2)
      • Answers for memory questions must be quoted (or finished) verbatim.
        • Only the first verse(s) quoted shall be accepted as the answer.
