Jackson Honey Festival 2009

Every year, KMBC is excited to participate in the Breathitt County Honey Festival, and this year was no exception.

In the Downtown Parade Route on Saturday morning, KMBC was represented by a float which was designed and built around this year's festival theme: “We Support Our Youth.” On the float, KMBC displayed support for youth by emphasizing the importance of church, family, and school, with the Bible as the main foundation. The creation, which won 3rd place in Saturday's parade float competition, was a result of planning, ingenuity, and hard work. Everyone's efforts with making the float were valuable and much appreciated!

Sunday's showers did not prevent the Community Worship Service, usually held downtown, from happening. The evening service was held in the Jackson United Methodist Church and was still open to any and all festival goers. The Breathitt County Youth Choir sang before the main service in which Rev. Miller, President of the Breathitt County Ministerial Association, spoke. Rev. Miller presented a message with strong emphasis on the theme of the weekend. In conclusion, he invited teenagers and young people to gather at the front of the building and join together in prayer.

The students of KMBC enjoyed the opportunity to attend and participate in the weekend's events and already look forward to the festival in 2010!
