New coffee shop at KMBC.

The new coffee house at KMBC was dedicated Monday, March 16. The dream was conceived by Jim & Caty Nelson. The whole campus came together to fulfill the dream. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends put their talents to use.

The coffee house is located on the Swauger Hall basement. The basement had been used for storage. Cleaned out, painted, and decorated, it is now KMBC’s own coffee shop! The coffee shop showcases historical pictures of KMBC. Someone said, "It's a neat place with lot's of historical ambiance!"

Monday night, the doors opened for free coffee and snacks. Everyone was invited to take a grand tour. The Board of Trustees were on campus for the board meeting. They participated with us in this grand tour. President Speas said a prayer of dedication for the coffee shop.

Students have been using it for homework and relaxation. Wireless internet, conversation, coffee, and some obligatory homework make the coffee house a hit!

Many thanks to Jim & Caty Nelsons for their vision, generosity, and labor to make the coffee house a reality!
