About the Group
Poet Voices has been a trusted name in Southern Gospel music for more than three decades. Formed in the early 1990s by songwriter Phil Cross, the group was created to present Gospel songs with theological clarity and lyrical depth. From the beginning, Poet Voices connected with listeners, earning chart-topping songs and recognition across the genre, including Song of the Year honors for “I Am Redeemed.”
Today’s lineup includes Phil Cross, Donny Henderson (lead), Loren Harris (baritone), Jeff Snyder (tenor), and K.C. Armstrong (bass). Their concerts feature familiar Poet Voices favorites, well-known Gospel songs written by Cross and recorded by artists throughout Southern Gospel music, and newer material that reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to faithful, message-centered music.
Alumni Spotlight: Jeff Snyder
Jeff Snyder, a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, came to Kentucky Mountain Bible College in 1997 to prepare for music ministry. His love for church music began early through singing with his family and his conversion during a youth revival at his home church.
After graduating from KMBC with a degree in Biblical Studies, Jeff continued his studies in Church Music at God’s Bible School & College. He has traveled extensively in Gospel music, singing with The Bowling Family and The Greenes, and appearing at events and venues such as TBN’s Praise The Lord, the National Quartet Convention, the Brooklyn Tabernacle, and Gaither Homecoming recordings.
Jeff and his wife, Melissa, live in northeast Tennessee with their three children, where he serves as worship leader at Valley Forge Church. His return to campus with Poet Voices is a special opportunity for the KMBC community to welcome back one of its own.
