A New Start

The 2014 Fall semester is off to a great start! New students have arrived not only from the local area and surrounding states, but as far away as Florida, Michigan, Iowa, and Texas as well as Papua New Guinea and Japan. Classes began Thursday evening, August 21st with Philosophy of Christian Education with Mrs. Amber Wisler. The following morning, Dr. Phil Speas delivered the first chapel of the semester on being a “superior product.” Studies show that up to 85% of those who start out in the ministry drop out in five years. Wow, what a disturbing statistic! Upon hearing this study, KMBC proceeded to do a study of its own. From 1994-2009, 77% of our graduates entered into some form of ministry. Of these, nearly 80% are still going strong in the ministry! Praise the Lord! KMBC has a proven track record for training men and women to be outstanding for God. Dr. Phil Speas continued the message by examining what helped the Apostle Paul to be outstanding for God. Watch the message on our Chapel Podcast page or click the message link below.

To our prayer partners, please keep our new students in your prayers. These first few weeks are a time of transition. For some, this is their first time away from home. For others, it a new start, a break with the past. Pray that both new and returning students will remain sensitive to the Spirit’s leading and molding presence this semester. We want nothing more than the Lord’s anointing and fire to burn in the hearts and lives of our students, staff, and alumni. We pray this semester will be one of the best semesters yet for Kentucky Mountain Bible College.
