Revival Services

Hands were raised, hearts were blessed and lives were changed at the spring 2013 Convocation with Dr. Eldon Neihof. The song services were filled with rich holiness hymns and choruses. Dr. Neihof ‘s sermons are consistently faithful to the message of heart holiness, and this series of sermons was no exception. Each one was powerful and anointed.

His text for Sunday evening’s message was John 14:1-7: Jesus is the Way. He went on to describe the way of Christ as the Way of Repentance, the Way of the New Birth, the way of holiness, and the way of fruitfulness. He closed the service by inviting the congregation to kneel at the altars in intercession for the revival services to come. Dr. Neihof’s topics for the week included carnality, reasons for believing in holiness, consecration, and the beauty of holiness. Seekers lined the altars after the majority of the services, making renewed commitments, seeking sanctification, and release from burdens.

In one of the early services of this convocation, Dr. Speas shared about how the early Methodists had “anxious seats,” in which those who wanted something special from God could sit. He established two “anxious seats” in the chapel, which were filled by students and faculty service after service. God’s presence has been very real in every part of this revival. The prayer of the KMBC students, faculty, and staff is that even though the scheduled revival has ended, it would continue in our hearts.
