With a variety of places to go and things to do, Kentucky Mountain Bible College's location is wonderful for anyone with an active side or a just heart for nature!

Breathitt County, KY and the surrounding area provides many opportunities for outdoor activities, perfect for students and visitors during the fall and spring semesters! The college owns a cabin – The Hiding Place – at Eagle Cliff resort, not a far drive from campus.

At the cabin, students enjoy campfires, hiking, and viewing the lovely nature and wildlife. There are also many hiking areas close to KMBC. Particularly close to campus are several hiking trails, including some great scenery just minutes from campus. In close-by Powell County is Natural Bridge State Park, a favorite hiking and recreation spot for students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike!  Red River Gorge is another beautiful park with many trails.

Nearby South Fork is a nature preserve where elk and wild horses can be spotted!  Douthitt Park in the town of Jackson offers canoeing, which is especially fun in the fall while the leaves on the trees change into beautiful, vibrant colors!

If we receive enough snowfall (as we did this past winter!), our steep hills are ideal for sledding and playing in the snow.

Whether you are an extremely active person or just a lover of nature without much desire for strenuous exercise, the different outdoor locations close to KMBC have something for everyone!
