Stand Out Winners

KMBC is proud to announce the winners of the “Stand Out” Talent Competition held Friday, April 18, 2013. There were two successfully filled categories: speech and vocal. The contestants in the speech competition were Wesley Jack from Huntsville, AL and Elizabeth Elliott from Georgetown, KY. Elizabeth Elliott won first place with her speech, “The Triumph of Hope in the Darkness” winning a scholarship of $1,000.

The second runner up in the vocal competition was Katie Martin from Sheridan, Indiana with “Orphans of God.” First Runner up was Wesley Jack with “Redeemed.” Robby Lower from Jamestown, TN won 1st place with a medley of “What a Friend we Have in Jesus,” and “I’d Rather Have Jesus.” Katie Martin and Wesley Jack were both awarded scholarships of $500, and Robby Lower received a scholarship of $1,000.

The four winners performed at the Talent Competition Concert Friday evening in the Helen Mathews Luce Chapel. Not only did these prospective students demonstrate talent and excellence in their performances, they evidenced a strong sense of and appreciation for the presence of God as well.
