The Race

The campus of Kentucky Mountain Bible College was alive with excitement during our fall 2012 open house event, The Race.  Prospective students experienced games such as capture the flag and life-sized Clue. Perhaps the most memorable activity was the Compassion Race. Teams were driven to Jackson with tubs full of items such as candy bars, cleaning supplies, chalk, Gatorade, and more. The goal was to creatively share the love and message of Jesus by giving the items away and doing acts of kindness. Groups passed out candy bars and tracts in local parking lots, visited the the local nursing home, washed windshields, and cleaned public restrooms. Students and guests alike testified of the joy in serving others. Friday evening, guests enjoyed a live concert and time of worship with the Collingsworth Family.
On Saturday, a special chapel service was held. Dr. Speas preached a message entitled “Outstanding for God” which challenged both prospective students and present students to do their very best for Jesus. Several students responded to the altar call, seeking to give God their very best.
KMBC thanks those who were in attendance for The Race, and invites you to join us this upcoming Spring for another fun and spirit-filled event.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 1 Corinthians 9:24.
