Prayer Class

“It is only when the whole heart is gripped with the passion of prayer that the life-giving fire descends, for none but the earnest man gets access to the ear of God.” – E.M. Bounds.

Professor Jim Nelson

In order to be successful in ministry, one must be triumphant in prayer. This semester KMBC is offering Theology and Practice of Prayer on Thursday evenings with Professor Jim Nelson. Throughout the course, the class has been studying the Scriptures to discover what the Bible says about prayer. From the teachings of Christ to the prayers of Paul, students are seeking God to transform their prayer life. Rather than a “how to”  on prayer, this class is intended to be an inspiration to pray. Students have been reading from prayer warriors like Rees Howells and G.C. Bevington. They are studying the role of prayer in times of revival such as the Hebrides revival with Duncan Campbell and the several Asbury revivals.

As KMBC students prepare for Christ's ministry, prayer is the resource that they must seek to effectively reach world for Christ.

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” - James 5:16
