Helen Mathews Luce Memorial Chapel - Progress in 2009

 It is the end of 2009, and great things have happened for KMBC this year! In the summer of 2008, KMBC began construction on the Helen Mathews Luce Memorial Chapel. Progress on the chapel, which is named after Helen Mathews Luce, has amazed and excited the campus community in the past year!
 

 

KMBC's business manager, Mr. Doug Dunn, reported that in the beginning of 2009, workers framed and roofed the chapel. Since then, close to twenty major projects on the chapel have been started, completed, or advanced.

    1. Brick has been completed.
    2. Guttering has been installed.
    3. Wall and attic insulation have been installed.
    4. Electric, water, natural gas, and phone line conduit have been installed.
    5. Sanctuary and foyer light fixtures have been installed.
    6. Plumbing is almost completed.
    7. Exterior facial trim almost is completely installed.
    8. Largest retaining wall has been constructed.
    9. Front porch concrete pad, pillars, and roof have been finished.
    10. Sheetrock has been hung in the sanctuary, foyer, and balcony.
    11. Sheetrock has been hung in the basement classrooms and apartment.
    12. Exterior doors and frames have been painted on one side.
    13. Sanctuary stage has been constructed.
    14. HVAC equipment has been installed.
    15. Electrical wiring is almost completed.
    16. The large stained class window, which will display biblical events, has been constructed and installed.
    17. The steeple has been installed.
    18. The fire alarm system has been installed.
    19. The fire suppression system has been installed.

     

The Lord has blessed KMBC in so many ways this year! May He be praised for all of the wonderful things happening on campus and in the chapel construction! KMBC looks forward to what the Lord will do in 2010!
